The Burrino, made with 100% Italian and whole cow’s milk in Sanza, in the Salerno area, is apparently similar to caciocavallo cheese, but inside it hides a heart of soft and tasty butter that creates a unique and inimitable combination.
In the past, when modern means of preserving food did not yet exist, butter was inserted inside the spun paste cheese for this very reason, to be preserved and, even today, Burrino can keep the butter fresh for several months.
